Gliding Egrets

Her aura was fluid as she walked, it was like a ball of water around her

Sometimes it would flow and envelope another, encapsulate them with her in it then pull and gelatinously release them and flop back into place to only surround her

They would share space in that cell for moments, then back to her own world blobbing and bumbling along bouncing to the beat in her eardrum

The walk

The sights

The water was like rippled glass, two egrets flew by, one low, one high

Flying past as her bubble bounced alight

The man in her world always searched for her light

Where are you now, where are you?

He told her his problems seeking her sight for she was a visioner, a visioner of the future and she couldn’t see theirs too clearly, but she did see him there in that distant space looking up at her past his glasses from their long wooden table

This time she wrote while he painted

They lock eyes and smile warmly

There’s more love in that little moment right there than even two hearts can hold

24 karat molten gold ready to be cast

And that’s all she can see, just that

She’s holding on loosely, bobbing about while he moves to and fro in indescision, his crab claws gripping it all, holding onto everything: coins, strands of pearls, tickets, the excruciating pain of the past, a friend brother, her, his mom, and all their lives

Didn’t unhinge a thing, he wanted it all to hoard

Hoard her light too, but you can’t grasp light, now can you?

It bounces along like a mist of bubbles

Nimble, it scatters at grasping

Scattering and glittering, it’s gone

The water was like rippled glass

The egrets glided

One flew low, one flew high.
